Merbah Nest - D-Day plus 4
April 27, 2009 | Category: Outing | Leave a Comment
8.50 am - The hunting for one excellent shot begun!
Husaini finally captured the sharpest merbah photographs ever. Congrat!
9:58 am - The bird actively feeds the young today. On the left is the camera. The tiny object on the right side is the nest.
Leave a Comment | Permalink09:00 am - Manjuzri, Rudy, Husaini and I entered the hide. The hide was really just perfect for three photographers. Somehow, we managed to get ourself comfortable just like home.
09:55 am - Chair is important. Who want to stand for hour waiting for bird. Unfortunetly, my chair didn’t last till another day.
10:20 am - Birding with monopod is fast BUT really not reliable. We have to stand then sit and stand for hours. Get a tripod. Fix and then wait.
Triggerring the camera with wireless remote trigger or a modified cable release are some of the “must have” tools.
10:35 am - We moved the camera out but we remain stay inside the hide. We put some camouflouge on rhe lens. I triggered with phottix wireless remote while Manjuzri on his modified cable release. Now, waiting for the bird to calm down with the changes.
11:02 am - Finally the bird returned to the nest to feed its young. It really ignored the camera.
03:40 pm - The last frame captured. I’m done for today. To be continued…
